This used to be called MacDonald’s $100 Ace Routine because One-Arm MacDonald - who actually had only 1 arm - really did sell this routine for $100 following some performances! This was back in the early 1900’s, when $100 really meant something!

For this reason, many people associate this handling and effect with MacDonald, but actually, it was created by Hofzinser in the mid-1800’s.

This is one of the really well structured sequences. Each vanish of the three Aces is done in a different way, and the spectator who thought he only held one Ace and three indifferent cards now discovers he holds all four Aces!

Some version of this effect has been done by many of the greatest magicians of all time, in close up, on stage and on television. It requires a set of gimmicked cards that many performers have access to, but which we can’t provide with this digital download. So if you have the necessary gimmicks, or know that you can get them, I hope you’ll enjoy this particular rendition of the effect!
