Course Description

The Smith Myth by Fred Smith

This is my handling of an effect that years ago literally did become a bit of a myth inside the world of card magic. It’s the sort of thing Fred would save until just the right moment, when he would fool everyone in the room and then just let ‘em talk about it!

What happens is this.... The deck is divided in half by a spectator, a card is selected by someone from each half which is then shuffled back into it’s respective half by the spectator. Then a spectator shuffles the two halves together before cutting the deck into approximate halves. Cards are turned over from each half, one at a time, until both cards each spectator selected appear at the exact same time! Inside the structure of this effect are two very clever principles, both of which are completely explained and both of which have many other applications.
